A nice mild day with a few showers. Car washing. H.T.B1, making 31 to date. Burnt a bitch belonging to John Howarth. Cleaned silage lab out. Dot and Jane at home to day.

Rain again nearly all day. Wind dropped and a bit warmer. Did usual daily jobs. Emptied all the lab bins. Two more pigs to burn and a sack of meal. Swilled down the boiler room.

Wind still blowing strong, cold as well. Went for half gall of petrol. Got 1 pint oil. Cleaned both jets. Cleaned windows in the office. A lot of old meal in for burning.

Rain at first but fine later. A strong wind blowing cool. Irish gave birth to a son this morning at 3am. 7lbs weight. 11 pigs in to burn and a lot of fowl and lambs from Hans Hall.

Got up at 10a.m. A strong wind. Joe brought me some plants. Put some in and gave the rest to Dot. Gang came for tea. Mrs Sumner won £2.50 on Spot the Ball in The Echo.

Got up at 9a.m. A wild morning. Strong winds and heavy showers. Ron took me to Burtons to get measured for a new suit. Got back at noon. Got Jane an Easter egg.

Slight frost. Cold wind and rain started at 3p.m. Did chores, then car washing. H.K.B1. Polished and D.T. washed. One yesterday making 28 to date. Not a lot to burn today.

Heavy rain nearly all day. Cleared about 2p.m. Dot and Jane home by car today. Did usual chores. Cleaned B1 car. Did some hoeing on the border leading to lab.

Rain at first but nice and sunny later. 600 gals of oil. Mopped the office out. A bad budget. 6d on pipe tobacco and 1d on a pint of beer. Very bad indeed.

Another lovely warm day. Frost first thing. Cleaned both jets. No.1 on red first thing. Did some hoeing by the rhodies. Budget day today*. Hope it’s a good one.
