A very cold wind this morning. Went to see the doctor. Won’t let me start yet. Took sick note to work. Got back home about 11a.m.

Still improving. Did a bit more gardening. Lou and Les came to see us at night. Les been off. Bad. Young Judy got married.

Feeling a bit better today. Did a spot of gardening but could not do a lot. Felt too weak. It takes time to beat this off.

Still feeling weak. Ron went into hospital today. Poor old Dot, a bit upset but never mind. All is for the best. Had a bottle of ale tonight.

Feeling a bit better today. Doctor came and told me I could get up and go to see him again on Wednesday. So this is better.

Still in bed and not feeling at all good. Head aching and voice almost gone. Nell looking after me like a baby. Bless her.

Had to stay in bed. Sent for the doctor. Pharyngitis. Temp. Feeling rotten. Put me on penicillin. Ron going in hospital on Sunday for his op.

Got up at 10 a.m. Did the mowing. Planted some sweet peas. Made a fence to keep Bunts* off border. Dot and Ron came for tea. Saw Bert Harris in the Wheat.

Day on today. Got done early. Very cold wind. Some showers. Went to P. Planted D. Cleaned the car. Planted flowers in wood. Old Bert Shaw knocked off his bike.

Dull skies again and showers heavy at times. Coldish winds. Car cleaning again. H.S.B. making 114 to date. Mason Bibby here. Two killed Thurstaston X roads.
