Got up about 9.30. Not so nice today. Went to see Joy. Two lovely boys. She came to Girl’s for tea. Left about 6.30. Home at 7.45. Nell stayed at Dot’s. 10.30 bus. Met her.

Day off today. A lovely sunny day. Went to Jane’s. Left about 4.30. Went to see John at night. What a house. Gave me some books and two nice plates for Nell. Bunts at Dot’s.

Rain in the night and first thing but a beautiful warm sunny day later. Cut some boughs off beech at top of drive. Car washing. A.D. 212 to date. Bloody rent up 5/6.

A nice day again but wind a bit cool at times. Screws still bad. Working on the borders round the labs and the square under the fruit trees. Nothing unusual to report.

A slight frost first thing but beautiful warm sunny day later. Lot of boxes and stuff to burn. Cleaned both jets. Finished house windows, ground level, last night.

Quite warm and sunny today. Brushed up round bins. Raked the lawns under fir tree. Cleared the silage labs out. Started hoeing under the little wall round the big lawn.

Not a bad sort of day. Only did one car. K. making 211 to date. Went to see work’s doctor with my knee. Couldn’t do anything. Got home on 5.30 bus. Nice on river. 600, 1st. 0.

Got up at 10.30. Not a bad day but strong wind blowing. Dug the big rose garden over. Ron and Dot came for tea again. Knee still very bad. Nothing important happened.

A nice sunny day at first but strong gales and heavy rain at night. Went and scythed the grass at Maureen’s new house. Finished 3.30. Quite a big piece. Grile’s girl married.
