Nice sunny day but wind rather cold. Dug up all my dahlias and dug the borders over ready for wall flowers. Dot and Ron came for tea. Dot doing ok.

(Assume reference to Dot is because my mum was six months pregnant with my sister, Jane.)

Day on today. Got done just after 10. Not a bad day. Wind rather cold. Digging the borders at P to get ready for wall flowers. Emptied the big bin for Mrs P.

A better day today with some sunshine. No.2 burner wrong first thing. Another big pig to burn. Lot of chicks. Car washing B.S.H. 237 to date.

Heavy rain at first. Cleared in the p.m. Large pig to burn. Raked up some leaves. Swilled round bins. Painted one of the bins out of the lab. 1 ton of coke. C.

Another cold day with high winds and heavy showers. Brushed up garage yard and raked leaves off lawn by the greenhouse. Cleaned both the jets.

Rather cold today with heavy showers at times. Mr Muir came today. Nice to see him. Brushing up leaves off the drive and carting to wood. Got sawdust off Ron.

Wind dropped but rather cold. Some showers. Car cleaning again. B.Mc.D. making 234 to date. Brushed up around bins. Whole lot of leaves. Lights at night. First time.

Clock back last night. Extra hour in bed. Cold with strong wind and heavy showers. Half cwt spuds off Nevitt. Ron and Dot came.

Day off again today. Very cold and a stormy wind blowing. Went to P in the afternoon. Started to dig the borders. Heavy rain about 4 o’clock. Brushed garage out.
