A bit cloudy at first but lovely later. Cleaned the weeds from round gooseberry trees. Ron, Dot and Jane came. Took Jane for a little walk. Mrs Starkey had a daughter Thursday.

Day on today. Got done 10 a.m. Not bad weather. Some sunshine. Did the mowing at home. Went to P in the afternoon. Did all the mowing and finished borders round big lawn. Combin*.

A dull morning with a cold, east wind. Some showers. Car cleaning S.H.Mc. making 148 to date. Put load of rubbish on trailer. J.H. 10/-. Did all the toilets. H is going on hols.

Dull at first but nice and sunny later. Started weeding on the front again and scythed grass on way into wood. Did Shack’s car. Very dirty. Jane went home today.

A nice day for a change with sunshine. Hoeing on the herbaceous border. Lots of groundsel. Jane at home today again. Farmers busy combining. Bert did electric fire. Did all the toilets.

Strong wind still with very heavy showers. Tidying up round the bins and brushed leaves off the drive. Jane came to stay with us for a couple of days. Peter came last night.

The wind still very strong but managed to keep fine. Started to hoe border under low wall round lawn. Edged it off first. Did all the toilets again. No cars today.

Got up at 9.30a.m. Still a strong wind. Did the mowing and cleaned the rose bed. Ron, Dot and Jane came for tea. Ron beginning a four week course tonight on public (something I can’t read – very curious).

A dull cloudy day with high winds. Got up at 10a.m. Next door went on holiday to Anglesey. Dot, Ron and Jane came. Ron went to football.* Went to P in the p.m. Did mowing, some weeding.
