Not a bad morning. Turned out to work again. Gone done 10 a.m. Dot and Ron brought Jane to stay while they went and did some packing. She was good as gold.

Not a bad day. Got up at 8.15 a.m. Went to see the doctor. Got signed off the sick list. John brought me my wages. Hugh F from Odd Fellows came at night. 30/- sick pay.

More rain again this morning. 150th anniversary of Neston Ladies’ Club today. Dot came over with Jane to go and see the Club walk. Came back early. Too big a crowd to see.

Still cold but the rain seems to have gone. N went to see Dot. Came home at 4.30. I was reading by the fire for most of the day. Again it is a very good book I’m reading now.

A real bad day today. Raining heavy and very cold. Nell went to Harrogate on Fellowship trip. A lousy day for it. Ron came at noon and took me for the day.

Very cold indeed today. Stayed in by the fire and read my book for most of the day. Had a nice little nap in the afternoon. Nothing unusual happened.

Much colder today with showers. Not fit to do anything out of doors, so did a good bit of reading. Dot, Ron and Jane came for tea. I went to the W.S. for a drink.

Still warm. Got up about 9.30 and did a bit of gardening. Mowed the lawns. Went to the Wheat for an hour at night. Came quite a heavy thunder storm.

A lovely day again. Doctor came to see me again. Off for another week. Hughie from the Odd Fellows came at night. Paid me 30/- sick pay. Very useful.

Yet another lovely warm sunny day. Finished painting the back kitchen. It looks very nice and clean now. Did some more reading and sat in deck chair.
